West Elm is a step up from Ikea, but not necessarily in quality. I'd buy an Ikea couch over West Elm. If I were buying laminate furniture, I'd also choose Ikea over West Elm.

WEBJul 13, 2015 · I think it's better quality that our Pottery Barn bedroom set, but not as sturdy as the set from the 1970s that I grew up with (honestly, that quality is hard to find nowadays!). We have a Costco leather couch that we love, too. It has an electronic recline and that has held up nicely for a few years. No problems, good quality, great prices.

They're very similar though. They do have some of the same manufacturers of sofas, like Mitchell Gold, which has pretty good quality for the price.

WEBAug 18, 2020 · IKEA for the sofas. They are really decent quality for the price. It’s the wood furniture where you will see the quality. Either get pieces like dressers from Craigslist, or the IKEA hemnes line dresser has held up well for us. Decor items like lamps, pillows, non wood furniture, Wayfair is great.
