Users on social media lashed out at Vice President Harris after her post on X pledged millions of aid for Lebanon despite the ongoing hurricane recovery in North Carolina.

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to meet Friday with a group of Arab American and Muslim leaders in Flint, Michigan, according to three sources familiar with her plans, but frustration over the Harris campaign’s outreach efforts is boiling over amid Israel’s recent escalations in Lebanon.

Harris met with leaders from Emgage Action, a Muslim advocacy group that has endorsed her candidacy; the American Task Force on Lebanon; and Hala Hijazi, a prominent Palestinian American activist.

The meeting, which took place backstage, came as Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign ramped up efforts to appeal directly to Arab and Muslim voters in the final weeks before the election.

Fire and smoke rose from Beirut’s southern suburbs, which have been the focus of Israeli airstrikes. The IDF says the area contains Hezbollah targets.
