The Carolina Hurricanes are inching closer and closer to the end of the pre-season with the penultimate game on the horizon tonight. The Canes will be icing a veteran-heavy lineup against the Lightning with virtually everyone but the projected fourth line slated to go.

The Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting the Nashville Predators tonight who look to be brining in most of the new guns. The Preds have nearly their entire projected starting lineup making their way to Raleigh, including former Hurricane Brady Skjei.

Scott Morrow was also a player to watch ahead of camp, but the defenseman has missed several practices with a lower-body injury. Like Unger Sorum, it’s probably best for Morrow to play big minutes with the Wolves rather than spot play as the seventh defenseman. Ty Smith is probably the front-runner for that job.

The Nashville Predators' top scorer from last year, Filip Forsberg, looks ready to get the season started. In their 6-4 win over Carolina on Wednesday in Raleigh, the Predators overwhelmed a young Hurricanes roster,

The Carolina Hurricanes will play their 'first' game at the newly named Lenovo Center tonight as they take on the Florida Panthers. This is as close to an opening night lineup as we get as the Canes are electing to play nearly all of their main roster players.
