WDFW: Raccoons leave Poulsbo property after woman stops feeding them
A Poulsbo woman has reclaimed her property after about 100 raccoons invaded her space, demanding food. On Wednesday, the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) told KIRO 7 that the woman stopped feeding the animals and they went away.
Raccoons have dispersed from North Kitsap property, WDFW confirms
As previously reported by the Kitsap Sun, WDFW advised residents not to feed wildlife, due to the potential threats that can occur when animals gather near humans in large groups. It is against state law to feed larger carnivores, like bears, though no state law prohibits feeding animals like raccoons.
